Snorkeling on the Gulfo Dulce

  1. Hope! Hi! Hi! Hi! What did you see snorkeling? Remember, "Fish are friends, not food!" Wait, scratch that! Please tell Mr Rouse that I like his new method for combatting seasickness... Can't throw-UP, when you are upside-DOWN, right! Lol!

Georgia and I are bored to tears without you! Every once in awhile she slams her door, and screams, "Stay out of my room," and I have to remind her that you are gone! Another lol!

Love you Hope! Only one long weekend til you are home! Yay!

  2. Hola Gary and all! What great pics, thanks to the teachers for downloading them …..I know that can be a challenge when you're off the grid! MC was off for the, what, the 3rd day in a row, not to mention after a 4 day weekend!!!??? And maybe again tomorrow! She is closely monitoring all the other schools that are closing due to the extreme cold (coldest since like 1860 or something crazy). I just got the report that CPS just got off. I actually was able to get her up to help shovel the snow yesterday. I know all you kids would be happy to get up and shovel in freezing cold weather, right? The snow is higher than Jimmy, he is ready for Spring! But it makes for quick potty breaks!

  3. Hi Ben, Will and Matt. Looks like you guys are having a great trip. I love all the pictures. Hope you're enjoying the heat and the humidity because it's frigid here. Nick saw a great injustice in the fact that he actually had to go to school this morning…and had to go on time! He was not happy since the rest of the city had another day off! Have fun and stay away from those poisonous snakes! Love you and miss you. Mom

  4. Hi Andrew and Brent
It's almost 8:30pm here and Emilie is sweating it out waiting for another call from St Mary to cancel school. I think she may have to suck it up and go one day this week! Not sure how much Blake is missing you. He is loving the extra servings of food at dinner he is able to get with you both not being here!
From the looks of the fabulous pictures on the blog...you aren't missing Cinci or us at all! Have fun and be safe!
    Miss you! Mom

  5. Clare, I love seeing your smiling face in the pictures. Looks like so much fun. Mimi, Carter and Collin are missing you. There has been a lot of painting going on. I am the only non-painter so I have read 3 books already. Mimi wants me to tell you - as of today, we are certified humpback whale watchers. We went out on a boat today and saw 10-12 whales jumping and flapping their tails. It was amazing. What a good week to be away. Xxoo-Mom

  8. Hi Karissa! Alexandra, Angus and I miss you. What a perfect week to spend in paradise. We love the pictures of all your adventures, especially the Ash Wednesday service. What a nice altar you all prepared for mass. We have had below freezing temperatures and no school all week so far, but we have been able to get in some great skiing!! Enjoy every moment and keep them in your memory bank. Love you, beautiful. - Madre, Hermana & Angus the pug

Another great day in Costa Rica.... While we freeze here in Cincinnati. I am beginning to worry about your brother Jack- he has not been in school for 7 days...and St X just called school off for tomorrow. The boat looks like fun- reminds me of our Eco-tours in Florida. I love the shirt- you make your brothers Alex and Jack proud. Enjoy the warm sun!,We miss you!!! Love mom

  11. Hi Bear -
What great pictures over the past day, the water looks beautiful and so relaxing! Clayton has checked my phone about a million times hoping school would be cancelled but it's not....only a 2 hr delay:)
I do think it will be good for him to be back at school. Think how far ahead you all will be with your school work given they haven't had school all week, so there will be some catching up to do!
Loved the pictures from last night on the beach all lined up, that was so cool!
Hope you are getting some rest, in between all of the fun. We love you and miss you.......Love and prayers, Mom......bfsa

  12. Andrew ... Does the sun shine everyday in Costa Rica? The hiking pictures are great ... Love the monkey. I always wanted a monkey as a pet ... Maybe you could bring that cute one home. Just kidding. The boat ride looked like fun too. Great experience. It's cold in Florida now too ... Going below freezing. Thinking about you in the sun ...

  13. Hey Doodie it's Jack. It looks like you are having a blast in Costa Rica, but so am I with not having school since the day you left. Hey man I noticed you were wearing my X shirt on the boat. You look good, but it fits me better. We'll have fun on the rest of your trip and remember get a solid lift in at the hotel and don't forget your protein!

  16. Hi Kate!

I heard from Mom that I owe you a post. So hello from San Francisco! We're connected by the same ocean but yours looks a lot warmer. I hope you had fun on the snorkeling trip. I'm not in Alcatraz right now, but I'm still stuck inside a hotel. If they let me out I'll try to find some chocolate around here. I wonder if any of it was sourced from Costa Rica? I'm thinking a lot about you and hope that you're having fun. Love, Dad

  20. Hi Mommy and Ben. O.K. Here's what happened. We were at the mall, and while Megan was parking the car, Eric and I went into a new store called "House Destroyers." One of the things in there was a little "superball" that they said would never stop bouncing, would get faster as it bounced, and was hard as diamonds. We laughed. Who would buy that? We left and went to the food court.

Anyway, only later did I find out that Eric didn't really go to the bathroom during lunch, and that he brought his wallet with him to the mall. And why did he shut the door to your room when we got home and run downstairs? So, sorry about your desk and dresser. The new plaster is drying on the walls, and hopefully I can get it painted by Monday. The new windows are on order. The "superball" was last seen in Hyde Park Square.

    You can't have one.

    Post-outta-here.

  21. Hey chris and dad!! It's Emily! Youre so lucky that you have positive degree weather because it's at least -10 today!! But the good thing is that I've been off school all week and I haven't been assigned any homework to do! I still haven't finished the stuff that was due this past Tuesday though- oops! I'm at a horse show right now and it's sooooo warm here, and Max is warm and happy too!! Looks like you're having lots of fun and getting pretty tan! Miss you and love you!

  22. Hello Jack. Nice to hear from yoi. Out of school for a week will get you nowhere. I am sure that you are lost without each other. I will have to check out that shirt that you have traded. Love you both. Grandma.

  23. Hi Charlie and Matt. Well as I'm sure you heard, your brother Jack had to go to school today, he was in absolute disbelief! I guess because your brother Nicholas did not! When I told him if school was called off last minute he would be able to go with me to Nicholas' Mock trial regional competition, he didn't find that at all appealing so I think he was ok going to school after all! Matt, no news yet on the competition, I will blog again later if I hear anything. I went to the first trial and they did fantastic but unfortunately did not take best attorney or witness so you know what that probably means. Abby misses you both, she is getting the worlds shortest walks and she seems to be just fine with that! She is as miserable outside as we are. Nicholas going to the XU game tomorrow and Jack continuing to be thankful for his friends Sports Mall memberships. Wish there was more exciting stuff to report from home but that's about it.
Enjoy the rest of your trip, we will see you in about 3 days!
    Love, MOM

  24. Hello from 1-D!!
We finally came to school today and were very excited to see all the great pictures you posted of your trip. We gathered around at the end of today to view all your pictures. There were lots of chatter about the cool animals you all have been seeing! We loved the snakes, crocs and monkey you saw in real life! And we are all jealous of the beautiful warm weather because it is soooo cold here! We have really missed you and can't wait to see you on Tuesday!! But there is one thing... Mrs. Doyle, you were like "Where's Waldo?" We want to see more pictures of YOU!!
    Have safe travels back!!
Lots of love from your class in 1-D!

  25. Hi Chris!!! Love the snorkeling pictures of you on the boat. Looks like a beautiful day. Emily told me she got sunburned the day that she went so I hope you used sunscreen!! I have now been at the horse show for 7 hours and we are not done yet. Your sister is not happy. Max is still learning and Emily is sad and frustrated. I'm hoping she has a better day tomorrow. Tell dad Max only got half braided today(only his mane) so that saved us some money. Ha!! We are expecting another snowstorm tonight with lots of snow and some ice. I'm kind of not in the mood for this anymore. It's getting old. Oh well... Enjoy your dinner and your evening and wake up to another beautiful day in paradise. Miss you lots!! Love, mom

  30. Hi Everyone-
This has been one awful week of snow and then below zero temps! It looks so great there...I think I could get used to bugs, frogs, snakes, NOT! I'm glad to see all of the easier looking pictures that you've sent though, like boating and snorkeling. Now that looks inviting! Enjoy your last weekend and know that you are missed!
    Love,
    Miss Rosemond
